Jake was six years old when he first performed on stage. Over the next six years, he trained at various dance studios in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Beginning as a recreational dancer, he quickly progressed to the competitive stream, earning numerous awards, titles, and scholarships. Alongside his dance training, Jake studied acrobatic and circus arts, specializing in tumbling, handstand canes, and lyra.

At the age of twelve, Jake relocated from Ottawa to Calgary to attend the Alberta Ballet School's Professional Division Program and to perform with the Elite Competitive Team at YYC Dance Project. During this time, he appeared on Canada's Got Talent, performed multiple roles in The Nutcracker with Alberta Ballet Company, and placed second for Junior Male Best Dancer at The Dance Awards in Las Vegas. In 2023, Jake was awarded the title of Teen Male Dancer of the Year by the American Dance Awards.

At fourteen, Jake moved to New York City to enroll in the Joffrey Ballet School's Jazz and Contemporary Program. In his second year, he was selected to join the Joffrey Concert Group, Joffrey's performance company. Jake has also attended summer intensives at the Joffrey Ballet School, Complexions Contemporary Ballet (USC Kaufman), and The Juilliard School. This summer, he is honoured to attend the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive and looks forward to continuing his training with the Joffrey Ballet School and the Joffrey Concert Group in the fall.
