Jakey was 6 years old the first time that he performed on a stage and he knew immediately that all he wanted was to perform. For the next six years, he danced in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at various studios. He started as a recreational dancer and quickly moved to the competitive stream where he won multiple awards, titles, and scholarships. In addition to dance, he studied acrobatic arts and circus arts- tumbling, handstand canes, lyra and contortion.

When he was 12 years old, he left home and moved across the country to attend the Alberta Ballet School Professional Division Program and participate in the Elite Competitive Team- YYC Dance Project. During that time, he was on Canada's Got Talent, played multiple roles in the Nutcracker with Alberta Ballet Company, and placed 2nd for Junior Male Best Dancer at The Dance Awards in Las Vegas. In 2023, while attending Dana Hanes Dance Company, Jakey won American Dance Awards- Teen Male Dancer of the Year Title. Jakey will be relocating to New York City in August to attend Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz and Contemporary program. Jakey also studies acting with Leblanc School of Acting and singing with Morgan Strickland.

Jakey's list of aspirations is long. He wants to get his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance; be on Broadway, Netflix, and AGT; get a contract with Cirque du Soleil; be a judge and choreographer; and open his own company. He has big dreams and believes his purpose in life is to dance.
